The legendary volcanic island Santorini is sitting in state over the dark blue sea. Santorini is worth while to visit not only for its many natural attractions and the possibility to swim on black lava beaches but also for its numerous archaeological sites.

The village Oia is situated away from the hurly-burly in the northern edge of the island.

Oia is a former seafaring town at the brink of the northern crater, nesting on a deep slope. It is a fascinating labyrinth of little stairways, round roofs and church-spires amongst old cave dwellings cut from the soft pumice stone. Almost no modernity disturbs the picture. Today Oia has about 500 inhabitants. It is regarded as the perfect example of an idyllic cycladic village. There are dozens of picturesque corners, whitewashed houses, steep flights of steps and blue and pink church-spires.

The capital of Santorini, Fira, is a very lively village with every tourists facilities you need. It is situated in the middle of the steep coast facing the famous Caldera and close to the harbour, the airport, the main beaches of the island and the famous ancient archaeological finds of Akrotiri. Some archaeologists have the opinion that the mysterious island of Atlantis is identical with the ancient Santorini/ Akrotiri before the volcanic eruption in the middle of the second millennium before Christ. You also can visit the ancient city of Thera with it's archaeological finds

In Perissa between Akrotiri and Thera you will find the most beautiful and large beaches with fine black sand. At the left part of these beaches there are many restaurants, bars, discos and other shops. The soft "back side" of the crater presents itself in a charming and typically cycladic style with many vine yards, fields and olive trees.
